Educational summary. Neither peptide is FDA-approved for anti-aging or body composition use. Off-label compounding has been restricted in the US. Nothing here is medical advice.
The two peptides
CJC-1295
A modified GHRH (growth hormone-releasing hormone) analog. Two forms exist:
- CJC-1295 with DAC (drug affinity complex): half-life of ~6–8 days due to albumin binding. Marketed historically as a sustained-release GHRH stimulator.
- CJC-1295 without DAC (also called Mod GRF 1-29): half-life ~30 minutes. Used for pulsatile rather than sustained GH release.
Ipamorelin
A pentapeptide GHS-R (ghrelin receptor) agonist — a GHRP (growth hormone-releasing peptide). Selective: stimulates GH with minimal effect on cortisol or prolactin, distinguishing it from older GHRPs like GHRP-6.
Why they are stacked
GHRH analogs and GHRPs act on different receptors (GHRH-R and GHS-R respectively). Co-administration is reported in the literature to produce a synergistic GH pulse that exceeds the sum of either…
